"A public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions for creative living."

We want to use this forum grouping to publicly declare your creative principles of living. Make them direct, authoritative and speak from your experience. There are no right and wrongs here, just personal, powerful statements of what you have found to be guiding principles for creative living.

Ron's Creative Manifesto's:

* The process is more fun than the product.

I have found that doing something creative is more fun than the thing I create. In fact, when I focus too much on the outcome, I wind up allowing perfectionism and social acceptance to control what I am doing. In those situations, I am never happy with the result and the angst I feel robs me of any joy I had in doing the project.

* Creativity starts in the body.

I find that I like abstract art not because I understand it conceptually but because it creates a visceral reaction in me that elevates my mood and opens up my attitude. When I paint abstractly, it just feels good. Sometimes I know what the abstraction represents but usually if someone asks me, I just reply: "It is whatever you think it is."

* Every one is creative.

I have friends who would dispute and deny this but the truth is everyone is creative. What form it takes or how it expresses itself differs from person to person. How my wife decorates our home is a form of creativity that I don't have (to her level). Saying you are not creative is social oppression in my opinion.
