Did You Know:

Growth spurts can start as early as 10 days after your baby’s birth.  Growth spurts usually are preceded by a sleepy, lethargic day and a big jump in appetite.  Growth spurts may happen again at 3, 6, and 12 weeks and again at 4 and 6 months.  If you begin to notice that your child is not as satisfied with the amount that you have been feeding her previously, then she may be beginning a growth spurt period.  If you are breastfeeding, you may want to add a feeding or two to satiate your baby’s appetite and to help increase milk production.

"What's a baby journal?"

Q: I have heard some mothers talking about keeping a pregnancy or baby journal. What is this and how is it helpful for me and the baby?

A: A Baby Journal is a daily diary written telling about how baby is growing, first experiences, like getting a first tooth or taking their first step,
or just how their day went. A pregnancy Journal is a daily diary written by expecting parent. Sometimes they write about their symptoms, doctors appointments, or first kicks. This is helpful for myself in that I can now look back in my pregnancy journal and remember what it was like to be pregnant. For many it brings back those special memories of pregnancy.

Many websites, like Baby Corner, offers online Journals where mothers and fathers can write  in their journals whenever the mood strikes. Online Journals are especially helpful to those who are expecting a baby, or are curious how other babies the same age as theirs are doing. Online Journals
also let relatives who live far away see how you and baby are doing. Baby Corner's Baby Journals allow you to add pictures to your entries.

You can also keep a scrapbook like journal where  can dress up your journal with pictures of your baby, ultrasounds, family, newspaper clippings, or whatever you wish! This is especially helpful if you aren't in the habit of getting on the Internet. I hope this helps! Good luck! :)
